Thursday 11th December - walks *** – Around Felixstowe – sunny periods.

Walk 1 – Sunrise prom.

Mag couldn’t sleep so went for her early walk in the dark, when she got home she said there might be a good sunrise so I got up and walked down to Felixstowe pier at the end of our road! There was some wispy clouds to the left of the pier that turned red and orange around 7.30 so got a few OK pics, had a nice chat to another photographer out with his camera before heading for home to warm up with the electric blanket and sort out my pics. I noticed that the BBC have used one of the pier online but I don’t think it will make it on the tell!

Walk 2 – The Dip to the Deben.

I had one eye on the wind thinking I might get a foil at Levington so I started my exercises but the wind remained marginal so I got two rolls out for a picnic. Mag went on her second walk of the day up the town and I packed a picnic and we drove down to park at The Dip arriving at 1.20 in lovely sunshine as we set off towards Felixstowe Ferry, with the breeze on our backs it was lovely, fairly quiet to, just us and a few dog walkers! By the time we reached our spot by the mouth of the River Deben the sun had disappeared and there was a bit of a breeze so not the most pleasant picnic as a tad on the chilly side but it was nice to be out and we watched two containers ships one leaving one coming in. We were pleased to set off back to the van as with the sun gone it was chilly!

PS - Mags back was chosen as a BBC Editor's Pick but I don't think it will make onto the telly.
